The University of Portland seeks a Survivor Advocate and Interpersonal Violence Prevention Program Coordinator. This position serves as a confidential advocate for University of Portland student survivors of sexual assault. This role utilizes trauma-informed responses to provide student survivors with support in all areas of their life, including, but not limited to, emotional wellbeing, academic and housing accommodations, physical health, referrals and connection to both community and UP supports, educational resources, legal options, faith-based and off-campus resources and other potential supports students may need. In collaboration with key community and campus partners, this position supports the health and development of students by planning, implementing and evaluating theory and evidence-based programs (such as Green Dot) designed to educate students about interpersonal violence and help build a campus culture of interpersonal violence prevention.

This position will report to the Director of Student Wellness and will work in close collaboration with the other members of the Student Wellness Center staff to facilitate alignment in the University’s wellness and prevention programming and services. The Advocate will also develop strong connections with relevant community structures, including third-party, off-campus advocates, with the goal of hosting them on campus on a regular basis for student support, connection, and education. The Advocate will develop, coordinate, and/or facilitate student survivor support groups on campus and will inform, train and guide future student peer-to-peer advocate programming.

This position may require evening and weekend hours to meet the needs of student schedules.

The anticipated annual starting salary range for this position is $48,000 - $50,000. This is a full-time, 10-month, exempt position with benefits.
