ASSOCIATION FOR STUDENT AFFAIRS AT
CATHOLIC COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES (ASACCU)
 STRATEGIC PLAN 2006-2011

I. "To promote an understanding of the rich Catholic intellectual tradition and its relevance for student affairs professionals who are working or will be working at Catholic colleges and universities."

    A.  To become recognized as the voice of student affairs in Catholic higher education in the United States.
                      1)  To continue ASACCU's relationship with ACCU.
                      2)  To collaborate with JASPA and other appropriate organizations.
                      3)  To maintain an annual organizational presence at NASPA and ACPA.
                      4)  To develop and promulgate "Principles of Good Practice for Student Affairs at Catholic Colleges and Universities" by 2007.
                      5)  To become recognized as the clearinghouse for the understanding and application of appropriate magisterial documents and to develop the appropriate vehicles for dissemination.
                      6)  To promote and support scholarship and research on student affairs at Catholic colleges and universities in whatever ways possible.
          B.  To increase ASACCU institutional membership to at least 50% of Catholic colleges and universities in the United States by 2011.  Fifty percent is 120 schools.

    II. "[To] encourage and facilitate the sharing of ideas and cooperative efforts among [ASACCU] members."

          A.  To develop opportunities for ASACCU leadership.
                      1)  To create regional representatives with specific tasks.
                      2)  To create an annual retreat for senior student affairs officers.
                      3)  To create on-line moderated discussion groups by areas of responsibility and interest.
                      4)  To outline specific responsibilities for members of the ASACCU board of directors.
                      5)  To continue to provide and improve the electronic means for interactive dialogue among ASACCU members.
          B.  To continue to provide and improve opportunities for ASACCU members new to Catholic higher education to learn about the Catholic tradition.
          C.  To assist member institutions in developing on-campus programs on Catholic identity.
