Gilroy Elected ASACCU Chair

Full_GilroyDr. Maryellen Gilroy, vice president for student affairs at Siena College in Loudonville, New York, was elected chair of the board of directors of the Association for Student Affairs at Catholic Colleges and Universities at the board’s semi-annual meeting in April.  Her three-year term of office will commence at the association’s annual conference in July, 2009.

The Association for Student Affairs at Catholic Colleges and Universities is a professional association for student affairs professionals who work at Catholic colleges and universities in the United States and Canada.  The association was founded in 1999 and will celebrate its 10th anniversary at its July conference at Siena College.

Gilroy has been a member of the association since its founding and has served on the board of directors since 2007.  She has served as vice president for student affairs at Siena College since July, 2000. Prior to that she served as dean of students at Southern Vermont College in Bennington, Vermont.  Gilroy holds a doctor and masters of education in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education from the Teachers College at Columbia University, a master of science in Guidance and Counseling from Central Connecticut State University and bachelor of arts in Studio Art from Providence College.
